DOLORES A. "DUDS" TIETZ, 73, of 2204 Moonlight Bay Dr., Altoona, died Friday, April 25, 1997 at her home. She was born July 22, 1923 in Eau Claire to Alvin and Jeanette (Monson) Nelson. Dolores graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1942. On October 3, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harrison E. Tietz in Stillwater, MN. Dolores worked eight years at National Presto Industries until 1975. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Harrison; two sons, Wayne of Appleton and Roger (Susan) of Altoona; a daughter, Karen McGough of Woodbury, MN; three grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Tietz, and Brian Morris; and one great-granddaughter, Shannon Morris.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Orie and a sister, Joan Welke.\r\nDuds will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her kind and caring ways. "She was our lifeguard at the family swimming pool and our guardian in all we did."\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
