Donald Raymond Anderson, 83, of Elk Mound, died Thursday, October 14, 2004, at Luther Hospital. Don was born in Marshfield on June 28, 1921, the son of Raymond and Marie (Ballestead) Anderson. He moved with his family to Eau Claire where he graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School.\r\nHe served as a gunner in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, from September 10, 1942 until his honorable discharge on October 7, 1945.\r\nDon married Yvonne Weichel on February 10, 1960, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.\r\nHe was owner and operator of Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park in the Town of Wheaton.\r\nHe is survived by his son, Donald Roy Anderson of Elk Mound.\r\nDon was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie; and his wife, Yvonne, 1973.\r\nMemorial services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2004, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon D. Thorpe officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery where V.F.W. Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites.
