Donald F. Bushbeck, passed away on Thursday, August 11th, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. He was born on July 10th, 1938 to Harry and Tillie Bushbeck in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating in 1957 from Von Steuben high school in Chicago, Don served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees. On April 30th, 1960 he married Elizabeth Marie Stuermer, whom he cherished for the rest of his life. Don and Liz had four children; Mark, Lisa, Gary and Glen. Don worked as a technician for the telephone company for thirty eight years. He and Liz moved the family to Chippewa Falls in 1969, then Cadott, and then to Eau Claire in 1976. Don deeply loved his family and his country. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and being a craftsman. He was a member the John F. Kennedy Council #1257, Knights of Columbus, where he greatly enjoyed friendships and camaraderie. Don is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth of 51 years; his children, Mark (Raelene and her children), Lisa, Gary (Mae) and Glen (Holly); his grandchildren, Alec, Madeline, Erin, Jolene, Benjamin, Hannah, Meghan; and his brother, Brian (Jill). He is preceded in death by his parents. The family is grateful to the staff and professionals at the Mayo Clinic Health System for their kindness and compassion. They would also like to thank their dear friend, Terry Deetz, for his care and companionship. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th Street, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL LOCATION, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Clare, with a Public Prayer Vigil beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to Mass at Church. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. James the Greater Church or the L.E. Phillips Senior Center, 1616 Bellinger St., Eau Claire WI, 54703.
