Donald R. Dean, 80, of Elk Mound, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital.He was born in the Town of Hale, Trempealeau County, on May 17, 1925, the son of Barney Jr. and Louise (Edinger) Dean. He attended grade school in Pleasantville.\r\nDonald married Marvelyn Stutlien on October 30, 1948, at Fagernes Lutheran Church inthe Town of Preston, Trempealeau County. He and Marvelyn farmed in the Town of Spring Brook, Dunn County for the past 50 years.\r\nDonald was a member of the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church and Family Dairies U.S.A. He was a resident at the Area Colfax Nursing Home since April.\r\nDonald is survived by six children, David of Elk Mound, John (Sharon) of Postville, Iowa, Mary of Onalaska, Paul of Menomonie, Betty (Billy) Heltne and Tom (Theresa) both of Elk Mound; eight grandchildren, Daniel Dean, Debra (Nick) Zuercher, Paul J. (Tanya) Dean, Brittany Dean, Michael Heltne, Molly Heltne, Maria Heltne and baby girl Dean due in Jan., 2006; and two, almost three, great grandchildren, Connor Dean, Tyler Zuercher, and baby Dean due in Sept., 2005; his sister, Ruth Arneson, of Blair; two sister-in-laws, Doris Dean, of Eagan, MN and Lorraine Dean, of Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Marvelyn, on February 10, 2005; his parents; five brothers, William, Clarence, Lawrence, Lester and James; two sister-in-laws, Ruby Dean and Vangie Dean; and brother-in-law, Floyd Arneson.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, Elk Mound, with Pastor Dean Brockmeier officiating. Burial will be in Fagernes Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Preston, Trempealeau County. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\n
