Donald "Donny" C. Goss, 67, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Racine, WI on September 16, 1940, a son of Elmer and Rebecca (Marsh) Goss. \r\nHe graduated from Horlich High School in Racine and then attended CVTC in Eau Claire.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army from August 1, 1958, until his honorable discharge on July 31, 1961.\r\nDonald married Kathleen L. Steinke on July 7, 1979, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nHe worked for Sanitors Service Inc. for 22 years until his retirement in 2007.\r\nDonald is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two brothers, Lary (Rosella) Goss of Maineville, Ohio, and Richard of Florida; three sisters-in-law, Ginger Goss of Hixton, Tennessee, Eileen (John) Felix of Appleton and Nancy (Curt) Frazier of Henderson, Nevada; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was especially close to his nephew Ron Goss and his niece Vickie Jampetro.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, his twin Danny, Rodney and David Goss; and two sisters, Marjorie Pederson and Marie Hisaw.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Grace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor David J. Irgens officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at church. Burial with military honors will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner, WI, at a later date.
