Donald E. "Lars" Krueger, 89, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. Don was born on April 15, 1928, in Eau Claire, to Emil and Nina (Amundson) Krueger. He married Rosalie Mousel on November 16, 1951. They recently celebrated 66 years! They were blessed with eight beautiful children. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1951 – 1953, stationed in Oceanside, CA. Don farmed most of his life. He was also a mechanic, carpenter, and a union cement finisher for 28 years. If you broke it, he could fix it! He was an active Moose member for over 50 years, holding the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. During summer months, he enjoyed fishing, spending time at the cottage on Island Lake, and gardening. Winter months were spent ice fishing and bowling - including many bowling tournaments. In later years, he and Rose traveled to visit friends and family. Most of all, Don loved spending time with his family. Don is survived by his wife, Rose; their children; Pat (Ed) Gonstead, Dawn (Tom) Walker, Doreen (Al) Johnson, Mark Krueger, Julie (Tom) Repinski, Mary (Phillip) Brownell, Kay (Mitch) Velure, Paul (LeighAnn Venaglia) Krueger; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford (Lucille) and Victor (Rosemary); granddaughter, Rachel Gonstead; and father and mother-in-law, Nicholas and Helen Mousel. Don was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend. He enriched the lives of everyone he met.
