Obituary

Donald R. Livingston, 53, of Augusta, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire following a courageous battle with cancer.\r\nHe was born on June 8, 1955, in Eau Claire, the son of Donald and Jane (Julson) Livingston. He attended Eau Claire Public Schools and graduated from Memorial High School in 1973. Don attended the District One Technical Institute in Eau Claire earning Associate Degrees in Police Science in 1975 and Histotechnology in 1982. He was awarded a Bachelors Degree in Biology from UW-Eau Claire in 1979. He was employed for many years at Covance Labs in Madison.\r\nOn August 19, 1989, Don was united in marriage to Debbie Rashka at Lake Eau Claire County Park. They lived in Madison for many years and enjoyed spending weekends at their cabin retreat on Lake Eau Claire in Augusta, eventually moving to the lake in 2007. Don and Debbie renewed their wedding vows at his bedside on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.\r\nDon loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to tell stories and jokes, often forgetting the punch lines. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, infectious laugh, ability to make long lasting friends, and his giving heart. \r\nDon will be dearly missed by his wife, Debbie Livingston of Augusta; his mother, Jane Livingston of Altoona; two brothers, Jerry (Theresa) Livingston of Danbury and Ron (LuAnn) Livingston of Eau Claire; and one sister, Sandra Livingston of Altoona; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and countless friends. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his father.\r\nHis beloved golden retriever, Zoey, is waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge, ready to "hunt 'em up". \r\n A Memorial Service celebrating Don's life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday April 11, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home in Eau Claire with Rev. Craig D. Sauk providing comfort. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Scenic Shore 150, Team Don, 200 S.
