Obituary

DONALD L. MOORE, 84, of 2737 Kay St., died Friday, March 30, 2001 at The Clairemont. He was born in Canada on September 17, 1916 to Fred and Winifred (Hewitt) Moore. Donald moved with his family to Duluth, Minnesota and then at the age of nine after the death of his Mother, he moved to Durand where he was raised by his Aunt and Uncle. \r\nDonald married Ruth S. Milbrath in River Falls on July 13, 1941. \r\nFollowing graduation from Durand High School he attended Ripon college and then UW-Eau Claire where he earned his masters degree in education. He taught in several schools in Wisconsin including Plymouth, Independence and New Richmond. Donald was an area insurance representative for Banker's Life before returning to teaching at Memorial High School where he taught economics, world history and coached track and basketball, retiring in 1972. \r\n He was a member of Christ Church Cathedral.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Kathryn (Ron) Viste of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Dr. E. Arthur) Livingston of New York City, NY; several nieces and nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.\r\nDonald was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth in August 2000; his parents; a brother, Kenneth and two sisters, Joyce and Winifred.\r\nHis ashes will be received into the Cathedral during Holy Week. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Christ Church Cathedral.
