Dora E. Stelter, 96, of Eau Claire died Monday, September 29, 2003 at Dove Healthcare. She was born on August 9, 1907 in the Town of Bridge Creek, near Augusta, the daughter of Fredrick&Alvina (Strauch) Steinke.\r\nIn the fall of 1923, her family moved to Eau Claire where she later worked at the Gillette Rubber Co. and also at the Presto Munitions Ordinance during WWII.\r\nDora married Edwin Stelter in Eau Claire on June 6, 1931. They were members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she remained a faithful member for 72 years. \r\nShe is survived by two sons, James (Susan) of Algonquin, IL and Thomas (Marlyce) of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Paul Stelter, Peter Stelter (Kris), Steven Stelter, Sara Tifft (Brian) and four great-grandchildren, Gretchen and Erik Stelter, Matthew and Megan Tifft; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nDora was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 1993; her parents, six sisters, five brothers and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2003 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
