Dorellen M. Haas, 89, of Eau Claire died Friday, April 20, 2007, at Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire. \r\nShe was born in Elkhart, Indiana on January 3, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Wilke) Lambert. The family later moved to Wausau, WI, where Dorellen graduated from high school in 1936.\r\nDorellen married Leonard C. Haas on May 31, 1941, in Wausau, WI. Thiers was a lifetime love and partnership, which has provided a lasting example for their children, grandchildren, and the community.\r\nAmong her many community activities she provided leadership at Grace Lutheran Church, support of and leadership for all women's activities at UW-Eau Claire, acted as a second mother for countless students, especially those from distant countries and far from home; and maintained a loving relationship with all of her P.E.O sisters.\r\nIn 1980, the Leonard and Dorellen Haas Endowment Fund was established through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation to promote International Education through exchange programs. In 1986, the UW-Eau Claire Fine Arts Center was dedicated to Leonard and Dorellen.\r\nDorellen will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters and their husbands, Kristine and Conrad Eastwold and Karen and James Alexander. Her grandchildren, who will sadly miss Grandma, are Maria (Ti) Flores, Jonathan (Angela) Alexander, Lisa (Jeremy) Rehwaldt Alexander, Michael Eastwold, David Eastwold, Katherine (Andrew) Tyser, and Naomi (Shane Aubert) Eastwold. We are saddened that eight great-grand children will not have the opportunity to know her better: James Rehwaldt-Alexander; Paul, Jake and Leonard Alexander, Cusijaime and Marcus Flores, Zachery Eastwold, and Mia Eastwold.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents, Charles and Marie Lambert; and her brother, Charles Lambert, Jr.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastors Rolf A. Nestingen and Debra Boynton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at church.\r\nThe family suggests memorials to the Haas Scholarship Fund c/o University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Foundation, P.O.
