Doris J. "Dode" Belger, 90, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, surrounded by her family. Doris was born on September 19, 1924, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Frank and Amanda (Johnson) Baker. She married the love of her life, Philip Belger, in 1943 in Seattle, WA. After the war, Doris and Philip made their home in Eau Claire and raised six children together. Doris worked in the kitchen, at various locations, for the Eau Claire School District for over 20 years. She was a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan, and a true grandma who loved to watch her grandchildren play sports and supported them in everything they did. Doris is survived by her four children, Jean (Chris) Lewis of San Diego, CA, Mike Belger of Eau Claire, David (Holly) Belger of Bloomer and Peter (Mary) Belger of Eau Claire; one brother, Tom (Leona) Baker of Loves Park, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Chris (Lisa) Lewis, Tammy (Brad) Lower, Heidi (Scott) Hammel, Becca (Col) Polka, Michael Belger, Scott Belger, Megan (Brent) Rogus, Todd (Jaki) Belger, Jennifer (Erik) Rumphol, Kimberly Belger, Andy (Christine) Belger, Christi (Lyle) Stoll, Jessica Sesanto and Nick Fawcett; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; parents; son, Mark Belger; daughter, Susan Fawcett; brother, Fred Baker; sister, Lucille Waller; and two grandsons, Shawn Lewis and Anthony Belger. A memorial service will be held at 3p.m., on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Jamie Brieske from Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment for Doris and Philip will take place at 1 p.m., on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, where military honors will be conducted for Philip.
