Doris E. Johnson, 93, of Amery, died on December 17, 2016, at Care Partners in Altoona, WI. The family appreciates the staff there as well as Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice. Doris was born May 15, 1923, in Hatton, North Dakota, the daughter of Henry O. and Ragna Astrianna (Andreassen) Thompson. Doris graduated from high school in Hatton, North Dakota in 1941. Doris married John Perry Johnson on February 1, 1947 in Hatton, ND. She owned and operated with her husband, John, the J.P. Johnson Jewelry Store. Doris was a simple, unpretentious person with a wonderful presence and sense of humor. She is deeply missed by family and all who knew her. She was a woman of faith and we rejoice to know she lives in freedom and beauty now. Doris is survived by her son, Brian (Randi) Johnson of Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Justin (Marissa) Johnson, Luke Johnson, Kristin (Phillip) Hicks, Kari (Ian) Watts, and Jesse Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Ingrid Elisabeth, and Mathilda Louise; two sisters, Lillian Enger of Hatton, ND, and Sylvia Goughnour of Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Hazel Hoversland, Inga Gravdahl, Pauline Algren, and Julia MacKrell; and three brothers, Lockerd, Ralph and Elmer Thompson. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township.
