Doris H. McMahon, age 91, of Eau Claire, WI, died Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Oakwood Villa in Altoona, WI. Doris was born July 14, 1925 in Frederic, Wisconsin to Henry and Helen (Johnson) Blood. After High School graduation, she moved to Eau Claire and attended Eau Claire Vocational School earning a degree in Secretarial Science. Doris worked as a secretary for Leo Duax for several years. She married Arthur McMahon on May 24, 1947 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Doris loved to help others, which was evident by her twenty-five plus years of being a Volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital. While her children were growing up she also found time to be a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. She and Art enjoyed traveling extensively. For the past twenty-five years, they wintered in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Doris is survived by three children, Sherrill (Anthony Olson) Ferazza of Eagan, MN, Dr. Michael (Peggy) McMahon of Eau Claire and Jayne McMahon of Port Clinton, OH; five grandchildren, David (Courtney) Ferazza, Molly (Brendan) Harris, Patrick McMahon, Lauren McMahon and Roxann (Antoine) Stoll; three great grandchildren, Angela Schroeder, Markis Stoll and Trysten Stoll; three sisters, Edna (Don) Cahoy of Hudson, Alice Okonek of Spooner and Arlene Mrkonich of Minnetrista, MN; one brother, Wayne Brooks of Stewartville, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Doris is preceded in death by her, parents; husband, Arthur (2010); one brother, Walter Brooks; sisters-in-law, Regina Brooks and Ione Brooks; brothers-in-law, Don Okonek and Joe Mrkonich. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave, Eau Claire with Father Donald Meuret officiating. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Lenmark –Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Burial of cremation remains will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Special "thanks" to Laura Brooks, niece and goddaughter, who lovingly shared her beautiful dogs, Bailey, Daisy and Patty, with Doris. A special "thank you" to Mike Brick for his care and companionship over the last several years. A family "Thank you" to the caregivers at Oakwood Villa for the care and love they gave Doris.
