Doris L. Pritchard, 95, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2015, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona, surrounded by her family. She was born in Eau Claire, on July 11, 1919, a daughter of Frank and Ethel (Blaine) Tompkins. Doris married Albert H. Pritchard on October 7, 1939 in Eau Claire at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. In 2009, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with many family and friends. Doris was dedicated to her family and enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities. Due to her husband's ranking as an officer, Doris was able to travel and accompany him for much of his military experiences during WWII. Doris was an active member of the Town of Union Helping Hand and St. James the Greater Church group, especially enjoying Bible Study. Doris is survived by her children, Ann (Greg) Smith of De Forest, Michael (Patti) Pritchard of Eau Claire, Peter (Cathy) Pritchard of Menomonie; nine grandchildren, Bryan Hobbs, Ben and Jake Smith, Patrick (Melissa) Pritchard, Angi Pritchard, Amy (Mike) Williams, David (Raechel) Pritchard, Jodi (Tim) Demulling and Tim Ahlman; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al; her parents; her daughter, Karen Hobbs; sister, Frances Wright; and brother, Loneil Tompkins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to the staff at Oakwood Villa, who provided exceptional care to Doris during her stay.
