DORIS E. SMITH, 67, of 727 Gilbert St., died Thursday, May 22, 1997 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls. She was born July 8, 1929 to Ora and Sadie ( Huggins) Miles in Eau Claire. She was a 1947 graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School and then attended Eau Claire Vocational School. Doris married John "Jack" H. Smith in Eau Claire on November 20, 1948. She worked at Armour Meats until her retirement in 1989. She was a lifetime member of Plymouth United Church of Christ where she was a member of Women's Friendship Circle and was liaison for serving at the church funerals. Doris loved square dancing, golf and spending time at the lake with family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Jack; a son, Pat (Chris) Smith of Eau Claire; two daughters, Carol (Richard) Harrison of Eau Claire and Ann (Fred) Siebenshuh of Elk Mound; nine grandchildren, Amy Seipel, Brooks, Rob and Brian Harrison, Laura, Mike, and Andrea Siebenshuh, Josh and Jake Smith; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Seipel; a brother, Robert (Marge) Miles of Butternut,WI; two sisters, Alice Fleury of Eau Claire and Iva Jean (John) Peterson of Sao Paulo, Brazil.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LaMona Miles and Marie Thoms.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Plymouth United Church of Christ with Pastor Chris W. Myers officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\n
