Doris Jean Weix, 66, of Eau Claire, passed away after suffering from a courageous battle of progressive supranuclear palsy on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Fall Creek Valley Care Center in Fall Creek. Doris was born on March 25, 1948, in Athens, WI, to Leo and Elizabeth (Boehm) Franz. On September 21, 1968, Dori married Al Weix of Colby, WI. Together they raised three daughters of their own and over the years, invited numerous foster children into their home. Later in life, Dori went back to school and received a degree in accounting. She had a love of flowers, birds and travelling throughout the United States and Europe and driving the autobahn. Dori is survived by her husband of 46 years, Al Weix of Eau Claire; three daughters, Linda (Jan Landau) Weix of Antwerp, Belgium, Laurie (Greg) Adams of Chetek, and Lisa (Erick) Peterson of Pleasant Prairie; three grandchildren, Amy, Addy and Seth, plus one on the way; three brothers, Don (Sharon) Franz, Lloyd (Theresa) Franz and Bob (Kathy) Franz; three sisters, Marie Knetter, Arlene (Roger) Olson and Bettie (Dick) Hartwig. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Norby Franz; sister, Lorraine Zelinski; and nephew, Mark Franz. The family would like to thank Fall Creek Valley Care Center for their excellent care and loving support to Miss Dori. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St. in Eau Claire. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at noon on Monday, October 27, 2014, at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
