Dorothy M. "Dot" Drake, 82, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home in Fall Creek. She was born in Eau Claire on October 21, 1920, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Larson) Anderson. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School. \r\nDorothy married Clifford Blanchard, Cliff died in 1971. She married Howard J. Drake, Sr. in Eau Claire on October 21, 1988. Howard died in 1997.\r\nShe was a sales clerk for many years at Pranges until retiring to care for her husband, Howard. She was a member of First Congregational Church\r\nSurvivors include, two daughters, Wendy Blanchard of Eau Claire, and Linda Modrall of Carmel, IN; two grandsons, John Modrall of Carmel, IN, and Stephan Modrall of Zionsville, IN; two great granddaughters, Katherine and Caroline; a step-daughter, Mary Sumner of Zionsville, IN; a step-son, Howard Drake, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, IL; four step-grandsons; and one step-granddaughter; a brother, Robert Anderson of Milwaukee; her sister, Elaine Johnson of Wisconsin Rapids; and nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Kip Anderson, Laverne Anderson, and Lawrence Anderson; and a sister, Mary LaValley.\r\nGraveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2003 in Lakeview Cemetery with Pastor Alan McCain officiating. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\nHer family requests memorials be directed to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
