Dorothy L. Garlie, 87, formerly of 414 Doty St., died Monday, August 23, 1999 at the Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on February 17, 1912 in Eau Claire to Arthur and Dora (Meire) Anderson. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1930. Dorothy married Harley N. Garlie on November 24, 1954 in Stillwater, MN. \r\nShe was employed by Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co. as a Telephone Operator, retiring in 1969 after 36 years of service.\r\nDorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a member of Wisconsin Telephone Pioneers of America.\r\nSurvivors include a niece, Sharon L. ( Lou ) Gloyne of Alameda, CA ; great nephews, Clay (Denise) Gloyne and Michael (Cindy) Gloyne; great-great nieces, Lauren, Taylor, Nikki and Emily; and a great-great nephew Zachary.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley, in 1989; and a brother, William Anderson.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nThe family requests that memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church or Luther Hospital Good Samaritan Club.
