DOROTHY L. HORSWILL, 86, of 627 Hudson Street died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at her daughters home in Eau Claire after a brave bout with cancer. She was born October 2, 1912 to Christian and Bertha (Nelson) Erickson, in the town of Irving, Jackson Cty, near Black River Falls. Dorothy married Neil R. Horswill on October 23, 1929 in Black River Falls, and they moved to Eau Claire in 1945. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Dorothy's hobbies were playing bingo and cards, and she enjoyed baking cookies to share with family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Terry (Alex) Scott of Eau Claire and Alyce Meisel of Fruitland Park, Fl; three grandsons, Robert Horswill and Dan (Regina) Stanton both of Eau Claire, and James Stanton of Altoona; two granddaughters, Jean (Angel) Alcantar and Peggy (Larry) Bauer both of Eau Claire; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Waldera of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in 1969; a daughter, Edith Horswill; a grandson, Stanford Meisel; six brothers, Elmer, Victor, Ernest, Forest, Douglas and Thomas Erickson; and six sisters, Edna Donaldson, Myrtle Zimmler, Alma Mildner, Mary Horswill, Olga and Mabel Erickson.\r\nDorothy will be sadly missed by her family and friends.\r\nMemorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the funeral home.\r\nHer family would like to thank Northwest Wisconsin Homecare Hospice, Syverson Lutheran Home and Luther Hospital for their loving care.
