Dorothy J. "Jean" Blink, 84, of Eau Claire, loving mother to Jill Myers, Jane Sell, and Russell Blink, died on Friday, October 10, 2014. Jean was formerly of Kernersville, NC and passed away under the loving care of Dove Healthcare West and St. Joseph's Hospice. Jean was born in Ironwood, MI, on April 12, 1930, to Edward and Florence (Erney) Nezworski. She lived in Milwaukee, WI where she was married and raised her family. Jean and family moved to Michigan and then later retired to North Carolina. She worked various jobs at Taylor Electric, Sears, and Green Elementary School where she was a Teacher's Assistant. While working at Taylor Electric, in Milwaukee, Jean met her future husband, Richard Blink. They were married on August 4, 1951 at First Baptist Church in Milwaukee, WI. Jean was a faithful church member. She sang in the choir and cooked/baked for the morning men's group, Wednesday Night Live, and other church events. Jean also cheerfully gave of her time and talents on mission trips to Appalachia. She was ever inspired by the Gospel music of Sandi Patty and the Gaithers. Jean had diverse interests. Her creativity was expressed through her passions in oil painting, gardening, flower arranging, and sewing. She enjoyed going out to eat with friends, shopping at Talbots, watching car races, people watching, deer watching, antiquing, and cheering on the Duke Basketball Team. Time was happily spent watching and playing golf and traveling throughout the country-especially winter trips to Maui. Jean took pleasure in camping and cooking over a fire; cooking in general. She was always looking for new recipes and enjoyed watching the cooking channel. Jean is survived by her children, Jill Myers (Denny Schultz), Jane (Terry) Sell, and Russell (Marlene) Blink; grandchildren, Sarah and Craig Myers, and Ryan and Nathan Sell; brother, Edward Nezworski; five nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and brother, James Nezworski. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on October 23, 2014, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville, NC. Memorials are preferred to Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Main St., Kernersville, NC 27284.
