Dorothy L. Jensen, 87, of North Oaks, MN, formerly of Eau Claire, died at the University of Minnesota Medical Center on April 7, 2018. She was born on November 25, 1930, in Minot, ND to Ray and Ruth (Erb) Robinson. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1948. She attended North Dakota State University, earning a double major in Dietetics and Home Economics Education. After completing an internship at the University of Minnesota Hospital, she served as a Registered Dietitian at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire until starting a family. While living in Eau Claire, she met Fredrick T. Jensen, a local pharmacist. On May 25, 1957, they were married in Bismarck, ND. Fred and Dorothy were married for 50 years until Fred's passing in 2008. They raised their three children in Eau Claire. In 1990, they sold Jensen Plaza Pharmacy, where she had been working. In retirement, Fred and Dorothy made several trips to countries abroad including China, Israel, Russia, Scandinavia, Turkey, Greece, and Canada. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States visiting friends and family. In the summer of 2007, Fred and Dorothy hosted their children and families on a trip to the Hawaiian Islands in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Many summers were spent enjoying the outdoors at their lake home on Sissabagama Lake, near Hayward. In 2012, Dorothy sold her home in Eau Claire and moved to the Twin Cities to be closer to family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; brother, Donald Robinson; and sister-in-law, Margaret Robinson. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Robert) Oelsner of Torrance, CA, James (Sharon) Jensen of Lino Lakes, MN, and David (Judith) Jensen of Truckee, CA; four grandchildren, Laura and Rachel Oelsner of Torrance, CA, Adam Jensen of Coon Rapids, MN, and Sara Jensen of South St. Paul, MN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 1st Ave, Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. There will also be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Rd, North Oaks, MN 55127, the senior living community where she had been living.
