\r\nDorothy Mae (Broberg) Kent, 86, of Eau Claire, died on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born to Sever and Ida (Hovde) Broberg on April 15, 1925 in Rock Falls, WI. Dorothy graduated from Durand High School in 1943 and earned a 2 year teaching degree from Eau Claire Teachers College. She taught in a one room rural school.\r\nIn 1947, Dorothy married George Kent at Rock Creek Lutheran Church where she had been baptized and confirmed. \r\nShe worked at Johnson Printing for over 20 years and had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of "Rock Falls Girls."\r\nDorothy is survived by two daughters, Georgia (Gary) Janssen and Susan (Larry) Shipman; two sons, Charles (friend, Betty) and Roger (Cindy) Kent; one daughter-in-law, Suzanne Kent; 9 grandchildren, Garett (Jenny), Eric, Laura, Leda (Todd), Liza, Ross, Joel , Michael, and Jill; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Kurtz and Ruth (Clem) Hayden; brother, Stanley (Doris) Broberg; sister-in-law, Viola Broberg; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; son, James; brothers, Leslie, Gordon, and Russell Broberg; sisters-in-law, Elsie and Katherine Broberg; and brother-in-law, Robert Kurtz.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Ave., Eau Claire with Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. \r\n\r\nDorothy will always be remembered as an unselfish, gentle, kind person, who never lost her sense of humor.
