DOROTHY M. SKUTLEY, 82, formerly of 1928 Ohm Ave., died, Monday, December 14, 1998, at The Clairemont, after a long illness. She was born May 30, 1916, in Black River Falls, Wisc, to Earl and Mary (Rice) Doud. After her birth her family moved to Chicago, and returned to Black River Falls in 1930 where she graduated from high school in 1933. Prior to her marriage she worked in Milwaukee as a bookkeeper at La Kota's Supper Club. She married Richard L. Skutley on September 8, 1943 in St. Paul, Minn. They moved to Eau Claire after Richard was discharged from the Navy following WW II. .Dorothy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, and was an active member of the Ruth Circle and her Bible Study group. She was a member of the National Society of Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America.\r\nSurvivors include a son, James (Diane) Skutley of Fall Creek; a daughter, Susan Mueller of Chippewa Falls; six grandchildren, Michele (Brian) Stokka, John (Ann) Mueller,and Holly Mueller all of Chippewa Falls, Matthew (Nicole) Skutley, Melissa Skutley and Chad Mueller all of Eau Claire; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Melby of Eau Claire and Mary Grace (Gordon) Hoard of Tempe, Ariz.; a brother, Earl Doud of Black River Falls; and a sister-in law, Lucile Cutshall of Hixton; nieces, nephews, and many friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Richard in 1994.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
