Dorothy E. Young, 85, of Eau Claire died Thursday, November 25, 2004, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Dorothy has gone to spend eternity with her God and her George. She was born in Suffield, Connecticut on July 15, 1919, the daughter of Denis and Dara Marie (Donovan) Dineen. She graduated from Suffield Academy in 1938.\r\nDorothy married George W. Young on September 9, 1944, at Rectory of Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois.\r\nShe worked for many years in Hartford, Connecticut and in Madison. Dorothy lived in Eau Claire from 1948 to 1951 and then moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she lived until returning to Eau Claire in 1953.\r\nShe was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Eau Claire Catholic Women's Club, Eau Claire County Republican Women, Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post #305, American Legion Auxiliary, and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 10.\r\nDorothy had many relatives in Ireland whom she visited several times. She loved people.\r\nSurvivors include a niece, Megan Wood of Westfield, MA; nephew, James Dineen of Suffield, CT; cousins; and other dear relatives including Mary Andrews of Eau Claire and Billy and Betty Heltne of Elk Mound.\r\nDorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George in August, 1991; her parents; sister, Margaret Flynn; and three brothers, John, Howard, and Harold.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at church. There will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer service Monday evening at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home.\r\nDorothy's family requests memorials be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 448 North Dewey Street, Eau Claire, WI 54703.
