Douglas "Doug" W. Frase, age 82, of Elk Mound and Tripoli and currently of Eau Claire, WI, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire on Monday, November 7, 2016. Doug was born April 27, 1934 in Eau Claire, WI to Otto and Emelie (Redlaczyk) Frase. He graduated from Old Abes High School in Eau Claire and went on to join Uniroyal Tire Company , retiring in 1992 after forty years of devoted service. Doug married Carole L. McElwaine on, March 7, 1953 in Eau Claire, WI. Doug was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved fishing, but ice fishing was his passion. In the past Doug enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, canoeing and cutting wood. He and Carole loved traveling and a bright spot in his life, was golfing in Jamaica. He loved his friends and was always good for a great joke. (Especially Ole and Lena.) Doug enjoyed spending a lot of time with his family and was so proud of all of them. He played a dedicated game of cribbage and the Green Bay Packers, were number one in his book. Doug is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Carole; children, Faye Gibson, Paula (Leonard) Pope, Dewane Frase, Connie (Douglas) Flatland, Joan (Douglas) Kado and Stacy (Dennis) Dietrich; grandchildren, Steven Gibson, Eric (Missy) Gibson, Kim Jo (Paul) Knuth, Lenny (Veronica Grotte) Pope, Jr, Alex (Beth) Pope,Tony Pope, Suzanne Tucci, Katie Frase, Erin (John Shuga) Frase, Andy (Rosie) Flatland, Sam Flatland, Maranda Schuh, Emi Frase, Karl Dietrich, Derek Dietrich and Andy Barsamian; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen (Norman) Decker and Lorretta (Vernon) Mueller; and one son-in-law, Roger Gibson. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Truax Congregational Church of Christ, 1008 – 50th St, Eau Claire, WI.
