Duane H. Grasser, age 77, of Eau Claire, died at Dove Health Care West on May 2, 2014. Duane had resided at Dove Health Care West since December of 2012.Duane was born June 25, 1936, in Chicago, IL the son of Henry and Catherine (Sopoci) Grasser. Duane married Kathleen A. Berger on August 26, 1972, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, WI. Duane was employed for 20 years at Luther Hospital working in the maintenance department. Duane will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Kathy; daughters, Teresa ( Martin) Corrie, of Minong, Julie Stowe, of Kansas City KS, Deborah Filkins of Lawrence, KS; brother, Henry "Skip" (Suzanne) Grasser of North Carolina; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Duane is further survived by his special friend Caleb. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire, with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Entombment in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Dove West Health Care for the care and kindness given to Duane. The family also thanks Mayo Home Health and Hospice for their care and comfort especially; Frances, Lori, and Nancy. My stay on earth is completed, my final rest is won. Miss me but let me go.
