DUANE L. KLOSS, 71, of 425 Twin Oak Dr., Altoona, died Thursday March 23, 2000 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1928 in Eau Claire to Alvin and Lillian (Veum) Kloss. Duane married Lucille H. Zimmerman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona on November 19, 1949. Duane served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 in Alaska. He was employed by the City of Eau Claire Water Department for 33 years. Survivors include his mother, Lillian A. Kloss of Altoona; brother, Alvin "Bud" of New Auburn; sister, Lois (Lowell) Olson of Altoona; brother-in-law, Jerry Zimmerman of Holcombe; aunt, Sarah Iverson of Altoona; uncle, Leon Veum of Fergus Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille in 1999; and his father. \r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona with Father Norbert J. Wilger officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the Church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family. \r\nThe family requests that memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the donor's choice.
