DuWayne A. Belden, 72, of Eau Claire died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. \r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on November 19, 1937, to Arnold and Nellie (Burgess) Belden. \r\nDuWayne served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1960.\r\nHe married Marcia Blaisdell on April 1, 1961, in Eau Claire, WI at Epiphany Lutheran Church. DuWayne was employed at Waukesha Engine for 34 years until his retirement. DuWayne and Marcia then moved to Birchwood, WI for 6 years.\r\nHe was a member of the American Legion Post #379 in Birchwood, WI. DuWayne enjoyed playing golf and relaxing with his long time companion of 14 years, Oscar, his beloved Bassett Hound.\r\nDuWayne is survived by his wife, Marcia; two sons, Curt (Kris) of Waukesha, Craig (Lisa) of Watertown; three grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, and Cody; a brother, Raymond (Sally) Belden of Eau Claire; two sisters, Yvonne (Dean) Gregory of Elmwood, and Sandy Fimreite of Florida; many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Chris and Charles; a sister, Ilene; a brother, David; and his beloved Bassett Hound, Oscar.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post #53 will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.\r\nIn lieu of flowers memorials are requested.
