E. CAROL HEIT, 57, of 2430 Mont Claire Rd., died Tuesday, November 26, 1996 at her home. She was born October 7, 1939 in Tyler, Minnesota to Max and Ruth Olsen. Carol taught elementary school for 27 years in many cities and states including the Eau Claire area for 15 years. She married Douglas Heit August 3, 1968 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Arkansaw, WI. She was active in the organization for teaching English as a Second Language, American Association of University Women, and a member of the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Douglas; two sons, James at home; Daniel (Sarah) of Eau Claire; her mother, Erma (Rev. Howard) Blegen of Mesa,AZ; three sisters, Barbara (Derryl) Edwards of Bradenton, FL, Maxine (Merle) Buyert of Clear Lake, SD, and Judy (Kenneth) Fauss of Rapid City,SD; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.\r\nCarol was preceded in death by her father, Max Olsen; and two sisters, Karen Braaten and JoAnn Niemann.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann, and Father John Schultz of St. James the Greater Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Choir Fund or the American Cancer Society.\r\n
