\r\nEarl F. Christenson, age 82, of Eau Claire, died at his home on Saturday, December 18, 2010. \r\nEarl was born on December 21, 1927 to Andrew and Margaret (Weese) Christenson. He attended school in Eau Claire. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1951 where he was honorably discharged. During his enlistment, he and Bobbi were married on July 22, 1950 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. \r\nEarl worked for the Eau Claire School District for 32 years, retiring in 1986. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his summers in Birchwood, WI and volunteering with Meals on Wheels and Triniteam. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. \r\nEarl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara "Bobbi"; children, Steven (Cappy) and Connie (Jeff) Melland; grandchildren, Jennifer (Will) Lee, Kristen (Tim) Hartzel, Stephanie (Matthew) Des Forge, Courtney (Brock) Haines; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Gabriella, and Grace Des Forge, McKenzi Olson, Taylor and Lydia Haines and Tyler Lee; brother, John (Nancy) Christenson; sisters, Gloria (Everett) Klopp and Phyllis Modl; sister-in-law, Catherine Christenson along with many nieces, nephews and other friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Richard; sisters, Betty (Win) Seeley; and mother and father-in-law, Harold and Abigail Thompson.\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 11a.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main Street, Eau Claire WI, 54701 with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eau Claire with full Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday, December 20, 2010 from 4 to 7p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire WI, 54703, also one hour prior to the service at Church. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Community Table 320 Putnam Street, Eau Claire, WI 54703 or Northwest Wisconsin Homecare, P.O. box 2060 Eau Claire WI, 54702. \r\nEarl will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
