Eda Hanson, age 84, of Altoona, WI, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014. She was born on the family farm in Brunswick Township on March 6, 1930, along with her twin sister, Edna, daughters of Edwin and Mollie (Ness) Gilbertson. She attended Fair Oak Grade School for 8 years and graduated from Mondovi High School in 1948. She was employed at Presto Industries until her marriage to Roger Brotzman in 1956. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. In 2003, she was united in marriage to O'Dean Hanson. They enjoyed many travels together including Africa, South America, China, Hawaii and many other places. Eda is survived by her husband, O'Dean; sons, David (Tonella) Brotzman and Michael (Vicky) Brotzman; grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew, Melissa, and James; sisters, Edna Bjorgo and Ruby (Richard) Mockler; and brother, Raymond Gilbertson. Eda is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and special friends, Mary (John) Riddle and Mary (Fred) Crosby. Eda's memory will live on in the hearts of her sons and grandchildren. Eda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorraine Williams; brother, Charles; brother-in-law, Iner Bjorgo; and sisters-in-law, Gretchen Gilbertson and Blanche Gilbertson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St. in Eau Claire with Pastor Gail George officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Drammen Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving her family.
