Edith Lorraine Larson, 91, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Eau Claire. Edith was born on January 18, 1921, in Thompson Valley, Mondovi, WI, daughter of Edward and Louise (Thompson) Ede. Edith attended school in the Mondovi area, graduating in 1939. On June 9, 1946, Edith married Lorn E. Larson at Thompson Valley Lutheran Church in Mondovi. After they married, they resided in Eau Claire. Edith and Lorn were blessed with three children, Linda, Amy, and David. Edith enjoyed working at Sears in Eau Claire for many years, retiring in 1983. She and Lorn enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. She also enjoyed making Norwegian foods for all to enjoy. Edith was also involved with "Feed My People" and numerous church sponsored activities. Edith and Lorn enjoyed World War II reunions held in locations throughout the country. Edith is survived by her daughter, Linda (Karl) Schroeder of Appleton; son, David (Diane) Larson of Menomonie; son-in-law Thomas Weizenegger of Chippewa Falls; four grandsons, Bradley (Jenny) Schroeder of Sun Prairie, Brett (Sara) Schroeder of Appleton, Edward Weizenegger of Minneapolis, MN and Andrew Larson of Menomonie; three great-grandchildren, William and Griffin Schroeder of Appleton and Sawyer Schroeder of Sun Prairie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorn; her daughter, Amy Weizenegger; five sisters, Selma Stay, Mabel Ness, Bernice Gunderson, Velma Gifford, and Agnes Bogstad; three brothers, Julian, Norman and Lawrence Ede. Edith was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church where visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012, with funeral services to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastors Lowell Halvorson and Michael Rehak officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
