Edla A. Roa, 97, formerly of 716 Fifth Ave., Eau Claire died Saturday, September 29, 2001 at Dove Healthcare Center. She was born on February 3, 1904 to Voldvin and Anna (Larson) Sundstrom in Colfax, Wisconsin. Edla married Alvin Roa on July 14, 1923 in Chetek. She worked as a beautician for fifty-five years.\r\nEdla was a member of First Lutheran Church. She loved to bowl, fish, write poetry, and paint.\r\nSurvivors include a son, Rodney Roa of Eau Claire; two daughters, Donna Davis of Granada Hills, CA, and Ann Annis-Playter of Eau Claire; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Orlan Sundstrom of Florida, and Trygve Sundstrom of Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 1980; and two sons, C. Durward, and Gayle. \r\nMemorial graveside services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001 at Holden Lutheran Cemetery in Grant Township, Dunn County, with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.
