Edward Deacon, 75, of Whitehall, and formerly of Fairchild, died Friday, June 16, 2007, at Trempealeau County Health Care Center in Whitehall. \r\nHe was born November 30, 1931 in rural Fairchild, the son of William W. and Susan (Lanterman) Deacon.\r\nEdward is survived by two sons; Keith and Bruce, both of Chippewa Falls; two step-sons, Richard (Sally) Claflin and Dale Claflin; a step-daughter, Mary (Scott) Schoettle; a granddaughter, Rebecca; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Deacon, Susie Deacon, Donna Deacon; and special friends Audrey Schellin and Harriet Deacon; and by numerous nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, German, Wray, James, Llyod, Orville; sisters, Irene, Lillian, and Mary; three brothers-in-law, Victor Bethke, William Brown, and Keith Zanke.\r\nGraveside services will be at Fairchild Cemetery at 11 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2007, at Fairchild Cemetery in Fairchild, WI. \r\n
