EDWIN C. EGGEN, 90, of 2417 13th St., died Monday, May 18, 1998 at the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. He was born July 2, 1907 to Carl and Sigrid (Kassan) Eggen in Eau Claire where he grew up and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1926. Edwin married Lucille Hoesly in Eau Claire on Sept. 11, 1933 at Lucille's family home. \r\nAt the age of fourteen he started as an errand boy for the Johnson and Huleatt Clothing Store on Bellinger St., and then became a window trimmer. After serving in the U.S. Army during W.W.II he became store manager and then owner for 30 years until his retirement in 1971.\r\nEdwin was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Lucille; a sister, Signe Eggen of Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews including a niece, Marion Hoesly of Eau Claire, a nephew, John Hoesly of Rochester,MN, and special friends, Jim Quick and Will Tomashek both of Eau Claire.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jule; a sister, Gunda Eggen; and a nephew, Dr. Harvey Hoesly\r\nFuneral Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
