Edwin C. Olson Jr., age 84, of Eau Claire died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Ed was born in Eau Claire on December 15, 1940, to Edwin and Florence (Anderson) Olson. Ed attended McKinley School and graduated from Memorial High School in 1958. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1962 and served in Vietnam. Honorably discharged in 1966, Ed was a proud veteran and member of VFW Post 305. After graduating from CVTC, he became a member of Local 19 at Uniroyal in Eau Claire and Local 715 Uniroyal-Goodrich in Woodburn, IN. He worked as a maintenance mechanic until his retirement in February of 2001 after 32 years of service. On March 30, 1972, Ed married his wonderful and caring wife Mickey at Morgan Avenue Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN.

Ed was a man devoted to service. Whether it was his family, friends, neighbors, or those who knew him as a member of Grace Lutheran Church or VFW Post 305, once Ed was in your corner, he was there for life. Ed's love of the outdoors was unmatched, and he spent countless hours hunting and fishing with family and friends. Ed was also fond of all things yard related, and there wasn't a blade of grass or branch that he wasn't willing to cut, chop, or cultivate. Ed was his family's patriarch, a caretaker for all, and is deeply loved and missed. Ed is survived by his children: Jeff (Vickie) Iverson; Vicki (Tim (deceased)) Wolter; John (Sally) Iverson; Mark (John) Iverson; Jamie (Bob) Schoettl; Heather (Brian) Olson-Strabel; grandchildren: James Iverson; Aaron (Lindsey) Iverson; Chad (Jody) Wagner; Dustin (Tiffanie) Wagner; Sarah (Kyle) Austin; Michael (Andrea) Iverson; Dewayne Hawthorne; Tyler (Jackie) Schoettl; Tessa (Brad) Mueller; Taite (Kurt) Petricka; and Jack Strabel; his sister, Clarice Erickson; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and many precious friends. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey Olson; parents, Edwin and Florence; and siblings, Donald, Janet, and Barbara; brother-in-law, Roger; and son-in-law, Tim.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30am on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 West Grand Avenue, Eau Claire, with Rev. Dr. Philip Ruge-Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 10am up until time of service at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Post 305.
