Rud, 95, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, November\r\n24, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. She was born September 3, 1916 in the Town of\r\nWheaton, Chippewa County\r\nto Claire and Catherine (Guldan) Edson. \r\n\r\nEileen graduated from St Patrick High School with the class\r\nof 1934. She worked at Luther Hospital Dietary department and in the lunch\r\nprogram at St. Patrick's' Grade School. Her favorite job was to be a caregiver\r\nand advisor to her family and friends. \r\n\r\nEileen was a member of the Catholic Women's Club, Sacred\r\nHeart Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post #305, St. Patrick's Guild,\r\nand a volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and a poll\r\nworker for elections for many years.\r\n\r\nEileen's passion in life, since a young girl, was to be a\r\ncaregiver to all. She was a gardener, loved to sew and enjoyed baking and\r\nsharing her care packages. \r\n\r\nShe married Bernard Allen on June 9, 1942. He died in August\r\nof 1943. Eileen married Harlan Rud on\r\nJanuary 14, 1950 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include two sons, James Rud of Eau Claire, and\r\nHarold Rud (Yvette Miles) of Houston, TX; two daughters, Sue Goslyn of Eau\r\nClaire, and Anne Miller (Roy Lindquist) of Ashland, WI; four granddaughters,\r\nHallie (Arch) Anderson of Drummond, WI, Jo Ellen (Eric) Ahlvin of Spooner, WI,\r\nJenna (Thomas) Casey of Ashland, WI, and Michelle (Patrick) Wilson of Eau\r\nClaire; four great-grandchildren, Finnegan Casey, Olive Wilson, Calvin Casey,\r\nand Louis Ahlvin, two nephews, Charles Edson of Eau Claire and William Edson of\r\nOverland Park, KS; two sisters - in - law, Wilma Dewitz and Arletta Rud, both of\r\nEau Claire; and her life-long friend, Kathleen Candell of Eau Claire.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bernard\r\nAllen and Harlan Rud; brother, Charles Edson; and son-in-law, Peter Miller.\r\n\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday,\r\nNovember 30, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 322 Fulton St. in Eau\r\nClaire, with Father William Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview\r\nCemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at\r\nLenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire with a public\r\nprayer service will be at 7 p.m and one hour prior to the Mass, Wednesday, at\r\nthe church.
