Einar C. Pedersen, 94, of Eau Claire died Monday, November 05, 2007, at Luther Hospital. \r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on May 29, 1913, the son of Carl and Inga Pedersen.\r\nEinar graduated from Eau Claire Teachers College in 1937 and went on to teach and coach for Altoona Public Schools from 1940 to 1942.\r\nHe enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on June 12, 1942, serving two years overseas in World War II with the 2nd and 6th Marine Division. Einar was honorably discharged from the Marines on December 21, 1945 as Captain.\r\nUpon returning from War, Einar attended UW Madison where he graduated with a Masters Degree in education in 1947. Following his graduation, he accepted a position as principal of Altoona High School later becoming Superintendent of the Altoona School District retiring in 1975.\r\nEinar married Beulah Mattison on August 15, 1947, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. They both were active golfers and enjoyed their time at their cabin on Island Lake. Einar loved golfing, fishing, hunting, and both amateur and professional football.\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Beulah; two sons, Richard (Linda) of Madison, WI, and Thomas (Joyce) of North Mankato, MN; three grandchildren, Inga and Laura Pedersen, both of Milwaukee, and Nathan (April) Pedersen of Chapel Hill, NC; and a sister, Gladys Shannon of Eau Claire; and by numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nEinar was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2007, at Our Saviors Lutheran Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\nMemorials received will be given to Our Saviors Lutheran Church and to the Altoona School District.\r\n
