Elaine O. Traaseth, 88, of Eau Claire, went to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, May 1, 2011. \r\nElaine was born in the Township of Albion in Trempealeau County on October 15, 1922, a daughter of Ole and Alvina (Engen) Jacobson.\r\nElaine married Harvey Traaseth on September 29, 1940, in Strum, WI. .\r\nElaine worked for Silver Spring Gardens for 24 years until her retirement in 1983. Elaine was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 60 years. She was known for her gentle spirit, strong faith, kind-heartedness and witty humor. She embraced many of us by listening with her understanding heart when we needed it most. She truly was a gift from God and will now be our guardian angel. We will miss her dearly. \r\nElaine is survived by her sons, Ron (Donna) Traaseth of Eleva and Ken (Mary) Traaseth of New Auburn; daughters, Pat (John) Naser of Eau Claire, Sharon (Dale) Luthy of Eau Claire, Sandy (Bob) Teigen of Eleva, and Donna Zielie and her friend Terry Solberg of Cadott; son-in-law, Jack (Sandy) Jasper, 20 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Traaseth of Eleva; and a sister-in-law, Irene Brian of Strum. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her son Larry Traaseth; her daughter, Betty Jasper; and her brothers, Raymond Jacobson and Joe Jacobson; and a son-in-law, Butch Zielie. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Ave. in Eau Claire with Reverend David J. Irgens officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, and also from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at church on Thursday. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Elaine's honor to Grace Lutheran Church TV and Radio Ministry.
