Obituary

Eleanor M. Moe, age 97, of Eau Claire died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Our House Assisted Living residence in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born October 22, 1905, the daughter of Emil and Hannah (Munson) Martenson in St. Paul, Minnesota. Eleanor married Arthur J. Moe on April 10, 1926 in St. Paul.\r\nDuring World War II, Eleanor worked at the Uniroyal Munitions Plant. She later worked at Kepler's and Samuelson's Department Stores in Eau Claire. She enjoyed many crafts and made greeting cards with real pressed flowers which she sent to friends all over the country. Eleanor will be missed by her family and the many friends that she wrote to regularly.\r\nShe was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.\r\nShe is survived by her two daughters, Yvonne Moores of Eau Claire, and Jacquiline (Jim) Sowders of Seattle, WA; a brother, Raymond (Elinor) Martenson of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; son-in-law, Marvin Peterson of Naples, FL; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 1992; daughter, Arlyce Peterson; son-in-law, James Moores; brother, Albert Martenson; and sister, Florence Zurek.\r\nMemorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2002 at Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger A. Skatrud officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
