Eleanor E. Schamberger, 82, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Dove Healthcare. She was born in Eau Claire on March 13, 1926, the daughter of Harold&Vera (Berndt) Johnson. \r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1944. \r\nEleanor married Jesse J. Schamberger on April 2, 1944, in Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.\r\nShe worked in the laundry department at Syverson Lutheran Home for eight years until retiring in 1988.\r\nShe was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Altoona.\r\nEleanor is survived by her three sons, Fred (Hsiu Chin) of Lampassas, TX, Leroy (Susan) of Chippewa Falls, and Ned (Debby) of Copperas Cove,TX; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jesse in 1962; a son, Dale Schamberger; a granddaughter, Tammy Schamberger; and her brother, Louis Johnson.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 919 10th St. West, Altoona with Pastor Charles A. Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving her family.
