ELEANOR B. SIME, 87, died Friday, January 29, 1999 at Dove Health Care Center in Eau Claire. She was born June 24, 1911 in Chippewa Falls to Helen Sime. Helen died when Eleanor was a young girl, and she then moved to Ettrick where she was raised by her grandparents, Erik and Brita Sime. She later moved to Eau Claire where she worked at the Cameo Room restaurant, and later in Food Service Department at U.W.E.C. for over 20 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a longtime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Eleanor had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed every opportunity to speak Norwegian with friends and acquaintances. Survivors include her cousins, Elvina (Verne) Swancutt and family of La Crosse, Celia and Ruth Sime of Ettrick; and special friend, Ida (Bill) Traynor-Diekmann of Eau Claire.\r\nFuneral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at North Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in Ettrick township, rural Ettrick with Pastor Tim Ehling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and 1:30 until time of services at the church.
