Eleanor M. Statz, 84, of Eau Claire, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Eau Claire. She was born March 18, 1931 in Eau Claire, WI., to Bernard and Edna (Miller) Nix. Eleanor married Gilbert Statz on September 21, 1950 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. She was a homemaker who loved spending time up at the cabin on Round Lake with the family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and helping Gilbert run the family construction business. Eleanor was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Karen) Statz of Tucson, AZ, James (Ann) Statz of Eau Claire, and Jeanne (Eric) Harris-Flom of River Falls, WI; six grandchildren, Tommy (Julie) Statz, Sarah (Wil Nash) Statz, Laura (Aaron) O'Connell, Paul (Abbie) Statz, Kevin Statz and Ben Harris; three great-grandchildren; and one expecting grandson. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her parents; her son, Jeffery in infancy; her sister, Margaret O'Brien; son-in-law, James Harris. Private family services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Don Meuret officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Calvary Cemetery Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Eau Claire.
