Eleanor M. Thompson, 78, formerly of 1016 Doty Street died Friday, February 16, 1996 at the Center of Care. She was born May 6, 1917 in Eleva to Otto and Lena (Helgeson) Chester. She was a graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1935. Eleanor married Charles "Chuck" Thompson on May 6, 1939 in Eau Claire. She had worked at Metropolitan Dime Store and retired from Eau Claire Consumer's Coop. Eleanor was a member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include four nieces, Beverly McDonald, Sandra (Cameron) Middlestad, Barbara (Milas) Vestal all of Eau Claire, Jacqueline (Vern) Willars of Milwaukee; a nephew, Arthur (Diane) Thompson of Eau Claire and a great-nephew, David (Anne-Marie) McDonald of Hudson.She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck in 1989 and her parents.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.Friends may call 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.The Family requests that memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
