Eline G. Stendahl, 89, of Eau Claire died peacefully Sunday, January 16, 2005, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. She was born December 17, 1915, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Bertha (Skoog) Kleven.\r\nShe graduated from Black River Falls High School with the class of 1933. \r\nEline married Omer "Tiger" Stendahl in Decorah, Iowa, on October 5, 1940. They lived in Black River Falls until 1947 when they move to Eau Claire. \r\nShe was a 58 year member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was a member of Rachel Circle, Grace Women ANEW, Grace Reading Club, Prayer Hour group, and had taught Sunday School. She had also led Bible study at Syverson Lutheran home. \r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Mary Sposato of Norristown, PA; son, John Stendahl of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, John David Coles of Norristown, PA; Allison Jo (Brice) Bunck of York, NE; and Keith Stendahl of Eau Claire; great grandson, Cole Bunck of York, NE; brother, Willis Kleven of Chester, CT; sister-in-law, Lorayne Kleven of Eau Claire; foster sister, Dorothy Reetz of Black River Falls' and several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Omer in 1990; a sister, Helen Kleven; brother, John Kleven; son-in-law, Francis Sposato; and a sister-in-law, Janet Kleven. \r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W.
