Obituary

ELIZABETH YVONNE HAWKE, 69, of 1830 Warden St., died Saturday, January 31, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born August 2, 1928 in Galesville, to Roy and Elizabeth (McCumber) Stewart. She grew up in Galesville, graduating from High School there with the class of 1946.\r\nElizabeth married Thomas Hawke in Eau Claire on June 21, 1948. They lived in Eau Claire where she worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone, until the birth of their first child. She was an avid reader, enjoying her romance and mystery novels, and caring for her pets.\r\nSurvivors include her two sons, Bill (Carol Lemke) Hawke and Bob Hawke both of Eau Claire; two daughters, Jeanne (Lester Tice) Brost of Fall Creek and Linda Hort of Fort Wayne IN; four grandchildren, Jamie and Ashley Hort both of Fort Wayne,IN, Amy (Jerome) Martinek and Jeremy Tice both of Chippewa Falls; and her former husband, Tom. \r\nElizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Royal and Adair "Jarg" Stewart; and a sister, Arlyss Johnson.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor John E. Hosmman officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services on Wednesday.
