Elizabeth P. Horton, 86, of Eau Claire and formerly of Osseo, WI, and St. Paul, MN, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at her home. She was born on January 14, 1920, in White Bear Lake, MN the daughter of Bert and Alma (Thom) Rice.\r\nElizabeth married Paul C. Horton in Northwood, IA on August 21, 1940.\r\nShe was an active member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Eau Claire, serving as First Reader for six years as well as Reading Room Librarian.\r\nElizabeth was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She loved to bake and was a cook at various facilities including Clifton House and Courage Center both in Minnesota.\r\nSurvivors include her four children, Paul of Meriden, CT, Tim of San Antonio, TX, Mark (Barbara) of Eau Claire; and Beth (Greg Votruba) Horton of Anoka, MN; three grandchildren, Paul, Alex and Claire Horton; and a great granddaughter, Grace Horton.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul; and a brother, Kealen Rice.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Reader Barbara Horton officiating. Inurnment will be in the mausoleum at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home. \r\n
