Elizabeth A. "Betty Ann" Johnson, 91, of Eau Claire, died Monday, November 14, 2016, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Elizabeth was born in Loyal, Wisconsin on October 6, 1925, a daughter of William F. and Mae "Mary" (Reif) Theisen. Betty graduated from Loyal High School and attended Tech school in Milwaukee and Eau Claire. She also attended University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and the Conservatory of Music Milwaukee. She married Jerome R. Johnson on September 14, 1946, at St. Anthony's Church in Loyal, WI. Betty was employed as an office manager and secretary. Betty was an avid golfer and held many offices in local golf clubs. She was active in the Merry Mixer's Square Dance Club and the Danzarin Dance Club. She volunteered for Cub Scouts and Girls Scouts, Eau Claire Library, and many years at Sacred Heart Hospital. Betty also sang in the adult choir and Alleluia Choir at Immaculate Conception Church for many years including singing in the original Army Chapel before Immaculate Conception Church was built. Betty Ann is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne (Steven) Waldusky of Eau Claire, WI, and Jean (Steven) Biesterveld of Eagle Lake, MN; two sons, Patrick (Viki) Johnson of Champaign, IL, and Paul (Danielle) Johnson of Altoona, WI; nine grandchildren, Laura and Heidi Waldusky, Jason (Lindsay) Biesterveld, Sarah Biesterveld, Lauren and Paige Johnson, Paul Jr., William and James (fiancé Elizabeth) Johnson; two great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Carol Theisen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome R. (Cooney) Johnson; infant son, Michael J. Johnson; her parents; five brothers, Leo, William, Raymond, Dr. Charles, and Primate Abbot Jerome; four sisters, Eleanor, Florence, Mary Jane, and Barbara; sisters-in-law, Eleanor, Ethelyn, and Dorothy; four brothers-in-law, Jerry Norton, James Ward, Fritz Helm, and Homer Betts. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, with Father Don Meuret officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at the church. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum in Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving her family.
