ELLA SATHER, 88, of 816 Porter Ave., died Wednesday, February 18, 1998 at M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on October 31, 1909 in Albin Township, Trempealeau County to Solfest and Ella (Kindem) Rene. Ella married Olaf G. Sather on October 27, 1928 at East Bennett Valley Lutheran Church in the Town of Chimney Rock, Trempealeau Cty, where she was a very active member. They farmed in Bennett Valley and Ella also worked for Gunderson Lefse in Bennett Valley. They moved to Eau Claire in 1969 and joined Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Ella also worked several years at Howard Johnson's in housekeeping before retiring.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Yvonne (Roger) Buxton of Eau Claire and Marilyn (Dennis) Burt of Holmen; five grandchildren, Daniel (Kim) Buxton of Savage,MN, Valorie (Jay) Britten of Chippewa Falls, Ricky (Kayla) Burt of Hudson, Paula (Eric) Schilla and Terry Burt both of Holmen; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren and Miranda Buxton, Courtney Britten, Kressa and Cheyanne Burt, Brittany. Brock and Bailey Schilla; a brother, James Rene of Eau Claire, and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf in 1975; two sons, Elger in 1930 and Gerald in 1946; two brothers, Arnie and Neil Rene; three sisters, Anna Twerberg, Gertie Rene and Ida Dokkestul. \r\nEllie was very special to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be missed by all.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in East Bennett Valley Cemetery, town of Chimney Rock, Trempealeau County. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
