ELLEN M. (HELSTROM) ANDERSON, 88, formerly of Minneapolis died Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire. She was born in Colfax, Wisconsin on December 31, 1913, the daughter of Howard and Mabel (Vosler) Taylor.\r\nEllen married Miles Helstrom in December 1930. They resided in Eau Claire where they raised their family. Miles died in 1982.\r\nShe worked as a Nurses Aide in the O.B. Department at Luther Hospital from 1958 to 1965. Ellen then moved to Minneapolis where she was a nurse's aide and switchboard operator at General Hospital until her retirement in 1979.\r\nOn April 15, 1989, Ellen married Rev. Harvey Anderson in Minneapolis. Harvey died in 1994.\r\nShe was a member of Park Ave. Methodist Church in Minneapolis and a former member of First Baptist Church in Eau Claire. She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings and being involved in church activities.\r\nSurvivors include a son, Keith (Leone) Helstrom of Eau Claire; two daughters, Mary Lee (Earle) Evans of Wichita, KS, and Suzanne (Fred Shiffer) Rathke of Menomonie; nine grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Loren Anderson of Anoka, MN and Dwight Anderson of Minneapolis; four step-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents; son, John Helstrom; daughter, Jeanine (Helstrom) Delaney; granddaughter, Cynthia Minot; two brothers, Howard and Clarence Taylor; a sister, Marion Daley.\r\nFuneral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Boe officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
